English and Chinese
ECDICT

JMdict
Japanese terms, English sense glosses, parts of speech, usage restrictions, and priority metadata. Copyright James William Breen and the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG). Japanese WordNet
Japanese lexicalizations aligned to Princeton WordNet synsets. WordHint keeps only selected mappings and validates them against its English sense inventory. Source and license.
Princeton WordNet and ejdict-hand
Princeton WordNet is used for English synset alignment under its WordNet license. ejdict-hand is a CC0 fallback candidate source. WordNet; ejdict-hand.
Korean overlay
Korean Basic Dictionary
Sense-level Korean headwords, parts of speech, vocabulary grades, and English equivalents supplied by the National Institute of Korean Language. Licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0 KR. WordHint reverses and aligns selected records to its English sense inventory. Only lexical text is used; linked media and third-party quoted examples are not redistributed. Babylon English-Korean and Kengdic
Legacy lemma-level candidates are retained only as lower-confidence fallback sources while provenance and sense alignment are checked. Babylon English-Korean is used under the MIT License. Mueller English-Russian Dictionary
Lemma-level Russian candidate meanings from the 24th edition of Mueller's English-Russian dictionary, used under GPLv2 or later as a lower-confidence fallback while sense alignment is checked.
Arabic overlay
Al-Mawrid Al-Hadeeth English-Arabic
Primary English-to-Arabic candidate meanings from Al-Mawrid Al-Hadeeth. Licensed under the MIT License. WordHint extracts Arabic meaning runs, discards alphabet section markers and other noise, then ranks and filters the remaining text. Source.

Share-alike dictionary assets
The generated target-language dictionary overlays are modified database extracts and remain subject to the applicable source licenses. The app bundles its complete third-party notices, including pinned revisions, checksums, modification details, and build provenance, for offline review in Settings.
