Data collection

WordHint does not collect or transmit page content, browsing history, saved vocabulary, or reading preferences. It does not sell personal data or use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking technologies, or user accounts.

Website access

When you grant website access, WordHint reads visible page text only to identify English words and display meanings. This processing happens locally on your device. Page content and browsing history are not sent to us.

Data stored on your device

Your reading preferences, saved vocabulary, known words, and anonymous local diagnostic counters are stored locally and shared only between the WordHint app and extension. Diagnostic counters do not contain raw page text. You can remove this data by deleting the app.

Purchases

If you purchase or restore WordHint Pro, Apple processes the transaction and RevenueCat helps verify access across reinstalls. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase status. WordHint does not send page content, saved vocabulary, browsing history, or contact information to RevenueCat.

Third-party services

WordHint uses Apple and RevenueCat only to process and verify purchases. It does not send page content to third-party services. Its offline dictionary includes properly attributed lexical data from several open dictionary projects. Semantic re-ranking, when enabled, runs only on device.
